By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo Kaduna — Christian leaders in Kaduna State have expressed profound gratitude to God and security agencies following the successful rescue of all victims abducted from Kurmin Wali village in Kajuru Local Government Area. Speaking during a reception for the rescued victims at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna, Rev. Caleb Ma’aji, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state, described the abduction ordeal as a test of faith and leadership, declaring that the state government and security agencies had risen to the challenge. “I am grateful to God because what happened in Kaduna came as a test. Your Excellency, the Deputy Governor, and all our active security agencies — we have all passed the test,” Rev. Ma’aji said. He noted that despite widespread fear and uncertainty after the abduction, prayers and decisive actions by authorities ensured a positive outcome. “Many people who never witnessed this kind of situation believed we might not succeed. But because we prayed and took the necessary steps, we have succeeded and put the enemy to shame,” he added. Recounting his interactions with anxious members of the Kurmin Wali community earlier in the week, the cleric said he reassured them that the victims would return safely. “We told them that if God is God, and with the efforts of the governor and security agencies, they will all return. Today, we are grateful because not just some, but all of them have returned,” he said. Rev. Ma’aji commended the Kaduna State Government and security agencies for their commitment and pledged the continued support of the Christian community. “On behalf of this community, we say thank you very much. Because of what you have done and what God has used you to do, we will always stand with you, not just today, but beyond today. On behalf of the Christian community in Kaduna State and its leadership, I stand here to say we are grateful,” he added. The rescue has been widely welcomed across the state, with religious and community leaders hailing it as a major boost to public confidence in ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity.
