By Benjamin Njoku Uche Elendu has come to Tonto Dikeh’s defence after a deliverance session with a minor sparked outrage on the internet last week, attracting a N200 million lawsuit from human rights lawyer Ikechukwu Obasi. Obasi accused Dikeh of violating the child’s rights, citing a video showing the girl being laid on bare ground and pressed against a stony surface. According to Elendu, the girl approached Dikeh for deliverance, and during prayer, the minor fell “under anointing”. “It was the girl that approached her requesting prayers. Tonto didn’t force her to fall, it was the anointing,” Elendu said. She added that Dikeh was in her car when the girl and her friends approached her, sharing a disturbing dream about bats. Dikeh prayed for the girl, who fell under “anointing” and started shaking, prompting Dikeh to alight from the car to complete the deliverance. Tonto Dikeh said she was using her craft to spread the gospel and plans to produce faith-based films. “I’m a woman of God, I won’t do anything without the Holy Spirit’s direction. If He leads me to start a ministry, I will,” the actress added.
