By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo Kaduna — Governor Uba Sani has called for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda at the party’s North-West Zonal Congress in Kaduna. Addressing party leaders, delegates, and stakeholders, Sani described the congress as a reaffirmation of the APC’s democratic principles, emphasizing transparency, grassroots participation, and leadership chosen by the people. “This Zonal Congress stands as a powerful affirmation of the APC’s identity as a truly democratic and grassroots-driven political party,” he said. A key highlight of the event was the reception of new entrants into the APC, including Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal. Sani described their defections as “momentous” for strengthening the party’s national presence. He assured both old and new members of equal opportunities within the party, noting that commitment—not longevity—determines relevance. “Whether you joined years ago or today, you stand on equal footing with all members,” he said. Sani also praised President Tinubu’s leadership under the “Renewed Hope Agenda,” highlighting gains in agriculture, energy, economic reforms, and social investment programmes such as the student loan scheme. He noted that these interventions are boosting productivity, enhancing efficiency in the oil and gas sector, and expanding access to education for Nigerian youths. On infrastructure, the governor cited federal investments in roads, rail, and energy as key drivers of economic growth and connectivity. He further localized the impact, stating that Kaduna and the wider North-West have seen improved security, active markets, and increased public confidence. “This Congress is not only about leadership selection; it is about strengthening our unity, deepening our structures, and aligning our strategies for the future,” Sani emphasized, urging delegates to carry the message of progress back to their constituencies. Dignitaries at the event included Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas, governors from the seven North-West states, ministers, and other top party and government officials.
