Here’s a look at 10 of the largest oil refineries on the planet. Jamnagar Refinery Complex – Gujarat, India The world’s largest refinery, Jamnagar spans 7,500 acres and processes 1.24 million barrels per day (bpd), supplying one-third of India’s oil needs. Owned by Reliance Industries, it includes hydrodesulphurisation, catalytic cracking, and TAME units. Paraguana Refinery Complex – Falcón, Venezuela With a capacity of 955,000 bpd, this complex combines Amuay, Cardón, and Bajo Grande refineries. Operated by PDVSA, it hosts the world’s largest flexicoker unit and produces most of Venezuela’s refined oil. Ulsan Refinery – Ulsan, South Korea SK Energy’s Ulsan facility handles 840,000 bpd, producing LPG, gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and asphalt.
