Based on this ranking, one can see a thorough picture of how comfortable and sustainable life is throughout the continent by taking into account important indicators like purchasing power, cost of living and healthcare quality. The rankings also take into consideration other metrics such as traffic, commute time, pollution levels and climate. Below are the African top ten (10) countries with the best quality of life in 2026: Namibia Namibia leads Africa in livability with a Quality of Life Index of 156.98, reflecting strong overall living standards. Its Purchasing Power Index of 77.57 shows that residents have moderate income strength, while the Healthcare Index of 65.36 indicates good access to medical services and reliable health infrastructure, supporting comfortable living. Botswana Botswana posts a Quality of Life Index of 154.97, positioning it just behind Namibia. Citizens enjoy moderate income flexibility, shown by a Purchasing Power Index of 82.92, and relatively dependable healthcare, reflected in a Healthcare Index of 62.70, making Botswana an attractive destination for professionals and families.
