By Demola Akinyemi, Ilorin Suspected terrorists have abducted four members of the same family while they were working on their farmland in Babanla community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. The attackers reportedly stormed the farm on Wednesday morning, firing sporadically into the air before rounding up the victims and taking them to an unknown destination. Residents of the community are said to be gripped by fear following the latest incident, with many reportedly considering relocating from Babanla. The town and several other communities in Ifelodun LGA have faced growing security challenges in recent months, particularly in remote farming settlements where residents complain of inadequate security presence. Sources told newsmen in Ilorin that the assailants initially apprehended five persons on the farm but later released one elderly victim, taking the remaining four family members into the forest. As of the time of filing this report, the abductors had not contacted the family to demand ransom. A senior police officer at the Ifelodun Divisional Police Headquarters in Share, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident. He added that security agencies have strengthened surveillance in the area to prevent further attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice.
