By Etop Ekanem The National Coordinator of Niger Delta Grassroots Organization, NDGO, Comrade Weyinmi Olley has dismissed calls for decentralisation of oil pipeline surveillance contract of, especially, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, describing same as “call to chaos.” He added that “calls for cancellation of Tantita’s contract, which has significantly improving oil production, enhanced security and giving back to society amount to economic sabotage.” Speaking on behalf of the NDGO, Olley returned “excellent” verdict for Tantita chaired by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, with Matthew Tonlagha as Vice Chair, adding that the company was working in synergy with other such companies like Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Ltd, which also has its unique performance story. Olley said: “Tantita’s profile of massive employments across the entire Niger Delta via sublets of assignment, is wonderful, which makes calls for decentralisation or splitting unnecessary and calls for cancellation infantile. “Yielding to calls for decentralisation will not only end in demand for contracts along states basis; calls will come from every community and then from individuals under whose lands pipelines run, not to add those who claim impact. That would be ridiculous, unwieldy and recipe for irresponsibility and chaos.”
