A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has declared that security has gradually been restored across the South-East, vowing that the region will no longer experience the level of criminal activities witnessed in recent years. Igbokwe made the remarks in a post on his Facebook page on Monday, where he expressed optimism about the future of the region and the role of education and collective responsibility in addressing insecurity. “All things considered, we have gradually taken back the South-East. Never again will Igboland suffer this level of criminalities in the 21st century,” he wrote. “Our education is not for fancy. It is not for nothing. It is for the good of the commonwealth.” The APC chieftain also criticised individuals he described as “foolish adults in Onitsha” and alleged “IPOB fraudsters,” accusing them of mobilising young people to chant slogans against Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. According to Igbokwe, those behind the action have since been discredited. “They have gone into oblivion and buried their faces in shame,” he added.
