By Golok Nanmwa The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it is fully set to host its national convention following a final inspection of the venue by the party’s venue sub-committee on Thursday. A statement made available to newsmen in Jos and signed by Simon Lalong, the Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, said the inspection was carried out at Eagle Square, Abuja. The statement reads that Senator Lalong, who is Vice Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Venue, alongside the committee Chairman and Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, thoroughly assessed the level of work done, interacted with contractors and officials handling various aspects of the preparations, and reviewed arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful convention. The statement reads that after the inspection, both Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Simon Lalong expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, noting that significant progress had been recorded. “The party is fully ready to host a successful national convention,” the committee members declared. The statement added that the inspection was the second visit by the team within 24 hours. Senator Lalong and Governor Abiodun commended the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for their guidance and support, describing it as instrumental to the smooth planning of the event. The APC National Convention is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates and stakeholders from across the country to strengthen the party’s unity and reposition it for future political engagements.
