By Chinedu Adonu Dr. Ben Nwoye, immediate past Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy National Chairman (South) at the party’s forthcoming national convention. Nwoye made the announcement during a telephone interview on Sunday, unveiling key members of his campaign structure. Timothy Amah has been appointed as Director-General of the campaign, while directors have been designated across the six geopolitical zones, including youth and women mobilisation teams. “Our campaign office is up and running in Abuja. We’re committed to serving APC members and ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates,” Nwoye said. He stated that his ambition is driven by a desire to strengthen the APC’s political structure across Southern Nigeria and deliver electoral victories. “We’ll use our network to mobilise the entire South. I’m calling on all party leaders and stakeholders to support this effort and build a formidable team to secure decisive wins,” he added. Nwoye revealed that he and his team would soon obtain the party’s nomination forms to formally begin the race. Highlighting his experience, he noted his years of service at various leadership levels, including as Secretary of the Forum of APC State Chairmen and as caretaker committee chairman in Enugu State, where he helped stabilise the party and conducted peaceful internal processes. The APC is expected to hold its national convention later this year to elect new members of the National Working Committee.
