North-West APC mourns with El-Rufai over mother’s death

By Gift Chapi Odekina, Abuja ABUJA — The North-West Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed condolences to former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Ummah El-Rufai. In a statement issued on Sunday, the APC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Garba Datti Muhammad, said the caucus received news of her passing with “rude shock.” The party described the late matriarch as a woman of virtue who dedicated her life to the service of humanity and her community, noting that her death is a significant loss beyond her immediate family. “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. The passing of Hajiya Ummah El-Rufai is a great loss not only to her family but also to her community. She was a mother to all and lived an exemplary life filled with lessons for humanity,” the statement read. The caucus also acknowledged the deep emotional impact of losing a mother, describing the deceased as a devoted parent who instilled strong values in her children. “Losing a mother is as devastating as it is painful. Hajiya Ummah El-Rufai was a devoted mother who raised her children in the best possible way,” the statement added. The APC North-West prayed for the repose of her soul, asking Allah to grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear the loss. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the El-Rufai family at this moment of grief. We pray to Allah (SWT) to have mercy on her soul and grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus,” the statement concluded.
