Nigeria is a Glitch; No Governance  —  Aisha Yesufu Slams Tinubu’s Govt

Opposition chieftain and chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Online Registration Sub-Committee, Aisha Yesufu, has launched a scathing attack on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, declaring that Nigeria has been reduced to a “glitch” under its current leadership. Yesufu made the remarks on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where she painted a grim picture of the country’s economic and security landscape. “Right now, Nigeria as a whole is a glitch. There is nothing working, whether economically or in terms of security; we don’t have any of that,” she said. The activist went further, citing the rising tide of insecurity across the country as evidence of governance failure, noting that citizens were being abducted and killed while armed groups operated with brazen impunity. “People are being taken away, people are being killed, and terrorists are coming out to show us their faces. Nigeria is a glitch on its own; it’s on a standstill. There’s no governance and nothing is going on,” she added. On the ADC’s online registration portal, which had faced reported technical difficulties since its launch, Yesufu was unyielding in her defence, insisting the platform had suffered no outages. “There is no website that you don’t continue improving on. It never had any problem,” she said, challenging critics to cite any specific instance where prospective members were unable to complete their registration. Despite declining to disclose membership figures, Yesufu said the party had been overwhelmed by the volume of Nigerians joining its ranks, expressing confidence that the ADC could unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. Acknowledging the APC’s dominance across state governments, she argued that sheer population support outweighs institutional advantages. “Do they have anything? Yes, they have 30 governors, but we have over two hundred and something million Nigerians minus the 30 governors and the few other supporters that they have,” she said. Vanguard News
