To God be the glory. Today is the last Sunday in March, Brethren you have every reason to thank God. Either the enemy likes it or not, reasons to thank God will never cease in our lives in the name of Jesus. Beloved, with a deep reflection, we would realize that we have reasons to give thanks to God. Not just for his mercies over us from January to March but also in the coming months ahead. When we appreciate God for the months ahead, we are demonstrating our trust in the Lord. The question you may want to ask yourself is why should I trust God? It is a sincere question for which the Holy Bible has quite a number of answers. Brethren, you must have read about the plagues that God afflicted the Egyptians with before Pharaoh finally let the Israelites depart Egypt. Even when they departed, you know that Pharaoh and his horse riders pursued them but ended up drowned in the Red Sea. Exodus 14 vs. 29-31 (KJV) tells us more. “ But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on the left. Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore. And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses”. The key words for us are that they “ believed the LORD, and his servant Moses”. When we believe, then we should trust. What we have seen or heard about should make us have trust in a process. It is the same way with our spiritual life. As a Christian, you believe in Christ. Then you move to the level of faith and faith makes you to have trust in the Lord. However, it is not everyone that has faith that fully trusts God. May we receive the grace to trust God in Jesus name. Let’s give an example. A person may believe that God gives children because the Holy Bible says ‘conception is of the LORD” but is his or her faith enough to trust God? Let me share a story. A Christian lady who was a worker in a church was waiting on the Lord for children. She believes that God is the one that makes conception possible. It is assumed that she goes to church because she has some level of faith but at a stage, she was persuaded to visit a herbalist that could make her have children. She went but while consulting his oracle, she noticed that the man bowed to some forces making incantation that praised those forces. Finally, after several visits that produced no conception, the herbalist told her. “ Go to those shouting Hallelujah”. Indeed she didn’t have any child until she went back to the church putting her trust in the Lord. Similarly, a person seeking employment or promotion that uses her body to entice the opposite sex because of what she wants, even if she is a Christian, has failed to demonstrate trust in God. A Christian that trusts in God will surely communicate with God regularly and build a relationship with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. Beloved, you can see that she is a Christian with faith but without trust in God. When we call ourselves believers, it is assumed that we have faith but many do not whole-heartedly trust God. Faith with trust in the Lord is the smooth road to testimony. Those that truly trust God do not have worries. No wonder the Psalmist said 25 vs. 2 ( NIV): “ In you I trust, O my God, Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me”. Placing emphasis on trust, the Holy Bible states in Romans 10 vs. 11 (NLT) : “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced”. Hannah knew that Penniah having children is of the Lord. That was the reason she cried to God to remember her and give her a son. Hannah demonstrated her total trust in God when she made a vow. She knew that with her faith and total trust in God, she would receive a positive answer. Hence she made a vow to dedicate the child to the service of God. Our father in the Lord, Daddy Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of R.C.C.G. once wrote in Open Heavens, “ Believe me, worry is an absolute waste of time”. He made reference to Matthew 6 vs. 27; . Jesus said that you cannot add one cubit to your stature by worrying.” Pastor Adeboye wrote, “ Worry weakens; instead of worrying, believers should trust God with their future”. Brethren, examine yourself, do you really trust God? 1st Peter 5 vs. 6 &7 ( KJV) tells us : “ Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you”. New International Version puts verse 7 this way, “ Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”. Beloved, the one that cares for you, Jesus is able to take care of your needs so why worry? Recently there was a great testimony at the monthly Holy Ghost service of R.C.C.G. A woman who had been married since 2011 with complicated medical conditions put her trust in the Lord that she would have her own children. Her Pastor prophesied to her that she would have children so she asked God for a set of triplets. God visited her and she conceived. Her scan results showed a set of twins but she insisted that the babies are a set of triplets. She began to buy baby items for a set of triplets. At a point her husband according to her told her to stop playing the fool . He advised her to buy items for twins since that was what medical report showed her. But this woman not only had faith, she had total trust in God that she had asked for a set of triplets. According to her, in the seventh month of her pregnancy, she had an attack that manifested in bleeding but God kept the babies. Hebrews 11 vs. 11 (KJV) : “ Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised”. The woman knew that God that she asked for a set of triplets is faithful. Finally, she gave birth to set of triplets; three boys. Her trust in God gave her a testimony that shocked even her husband. Beloved, trust God and experience his wonders. I congratulate Laughter Foundation International Ministry on its 29th anniversary today. God has used the ministry to make many barren women mothers of children. Beloved, trust God will all your heart and testify to his amazing miracles. Trust in God, cast away worries. The LORD reigns!
