By Samuel Oyadongha, Yenagoa The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has reminded operators, contractors, and service companies in the upstream oil and gas sector of their obligation to remit 1 per cent of contract values to the Nigerian Content Development Fund (NCDF). In a statement issued in Yenagoa, NCDMB Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, said the NCDF is a statutory fund established under Section 104 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010, to support indigenous contractors, finance training, and promote growth in the sector. He emphasized that all remittances must be made strictly into accounts designated by the Board, warning that payments outside these accounts will not be recognized. Ogbe also highlighted that obtaining a Nigerian Content Development Fund Compliance Certificate (NCFCC) has become a prerequisite for accessing the Board’s regulatory services and approvals, including project clearances, Nigerian Content Equipment Certificates, and other regulatory documents. Companies are advised to regularize their NCDF payments and apply for the digital NCFCC via the NCDMB online portal to ensure compliance and uninterrupted operations. The Board reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective utilization of the NCDF to drive sustainable Nigerian content development in the oil and gas industry.
