By Favour Ulebor, Abuja The Association of Nigerians in the Australian Capital Territory (NAACT) has expressed strong support for Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner to Australia, Ambassador (Dr.) Jane Bassey Adams. The group also called for responsible and respectful engagement within the Nigerian community, stressing the need for unity and constructive dialogue. In a press statement signed by Professor Francis C. Ogbonnaya on Saturday, the association noted that while individuals and groups have the right to express concerns, such actions must be guided by facts, integrity, and mutual respect. NAACT emphasized that public discussions on community matters should be conducted through appropriate and respectful channels, adding that differences of opinion should not undermine relationships or institutions. The association further highlighted that effective leadership requires maturity, responsibility, and a commitment to promoting the core values of the Nigerian community. Reaffirming its stance, NAACT said it remains committed to unity, dignity, and the responsible representation of Nigerians in Australia. The group also reiterated its working relationship with the Acting High Commissioner, describing the engagement as positive, collaborative, and focused on advancing Nigeria’s national interest. NAACT expressed confidence in Ambassador Adams’ leadership and her efforts to support Nigerians in the Australian Capital Territory and across Australia.
