Lagos State to resume monthly sanitation exercise from April 25

By Olasunkanmi Akoni Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has announced the resumption of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, set to begin on Saturday, 25th April 2026. The exercise will take place on the last Saturday of every month from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The announcement follows the state government’s symbolic relaunch of the exercise at Idi-Oro in Mushin Local Government Area. Wahab urged residents to actively participate by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainage channels, and properly disposing of waste as part of their civic duties. He emphasized that the exercise is a shared responsibility crucial for promoting a cleaner, healthier, and flood-resilient Lagos and noted that compliance would be enforced by the full authority of the Lagos State Government.
