By Olasunkanmi Akoni The Lagos State Government has introduced an electronic platform to simplify and fast-track the process of obtaining physical planning permits. The General Manager of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), Kehinde Osinaike, disclosed this in a statement issued by the ministry’s Director of Public Affairs, Abimbola Emdin-Umeh. Osinaike said the platform, known as the Electronic Physical Planning Permit Processing System, was developed under e-LASPPPA to modernise and accelerate the approval of building permits across the state. According to him, the system enables residents, property developers, and other stakeholders to apply for and process planning permits online from any location. He noted that the digital initiative is expected to reduce delays associated with manual processing while making the approval process faster and more user-friendly. Osinaike added that the platform would enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in physical planning administration, while ensuring that building developments comply with approved regulations and standards. He described the initiative as a reflection of the state government’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery. The LASPPPA boss urged residents, developers, and investors to utilise the platform for their planning permit applications, noting that it aligns with the state’s vision of building a smart, digitally driven governance system capable of meeting the needs of its growing population.
