Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of the 2023 New Nigeria Peoples Party presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has announced his resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), signaling a political shift as he moves to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Kwankwaso disclosed this in a statement shared Monday via his Facebook handle, where he confirmed that his decision to leave the NNPP was deliberate and carefully considered. “I want to inform the general public that as of today, I have officially resigned my membership from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP),” he stated. He added that he is currently in the process of joining the ADC, expressing optimism about the new phase of his political career. According to Kwankwaso, his decision to align with the ADC is driven by his belief that the party is well-positioned to deliver meaningful change in Nigeria, particularly in Kano State. He noted that the ADC’s vision and values provide a credible platform to pursue good governance, economic growth, and improved welfare for citizens. Kwankwaso, who serves as Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya movement, emphasized his commitment to working with like-minded stakeholders to achieve shared development goals.
