....Pledges as APC Holds Peaceful State Congress By Ndahi Marama, Damaturu Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has vowed never to betray the trust of his predecessor, former Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, or the people of the state in the course of executing his duties. The declaration came during a peaceful All Progressives Congress (APC) state congress held yesterday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Damaturu, aimed at consolidating outcomes from earlier ward and local government congresses ahead of the party’s national convention. Addressing party delegates and supporters, Governor Buni expressed appreciation for the cooperation and maturity shown by members throughout the process. He charged the newly elected State Executive Committee (EXCO) to uphold loyalty, unity, and dedicated service to both the party and the state. “The peaceful conduct of this congress reflects the strong internal democracy and cohesion within the APC in Yobe,” he said, stressing that unity remains the party’s greatest strength as it prepares for the national convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026, in Abuja. Governor Buni also highlighted his administration’s achievements in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth and women empowerment, attributing the successes to collective support from party members and citizens. Announcing the results, the APC State Electoral Committee Chairman, Engineer Dr. Muttaka Rabe Darma, said the new executive members emerged through a consensus process, unanimously endorsed by delegates after extensive consultations. The newly re-elected State Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka, thanked delegates for their confidence and pledged to adopt an inclusive leadership style that engages all party members. Special Adviser on Political and Legislative Matters, Usman Adamu Kabarma, commended Governor Buni for providing purposeful leadership that has strengthened APC structures across Yobe State. According to Yusuf Ali, Focal Person on Digital and Strategic Communications to the Governor, the newly elected APC state executives are: Chairman: Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka Deputy Chairman: Alhaji Alamai Baba Kankare Secretary: Alhaji Abbani Gambo Legal Adviser: Barrister Ali Mohammed Organising Secretary: Ali Alhaji Maidugu Treasurer: Sa’idu A. Baba Financial Secretary: Umar A. Yawudima Youth Leader: Mohammed Musa Gulani Publicity Secretary: Alhaji Ibrahim Daushe Auditor: Alhaji Babangida Jajere At the zonal level: Baba Umar (Damaturu Zone A Vice Chairman), Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa (Zone B), Adamu Lamido (Zone C), Alhaji Bukar (Welfare Secretary), Budu Lawan (Women Leader), and Alhaji Usman Bura Gabai (Representative of People with Special Needs). The peaceful congress underscores growing stability and cohesion within the APC in Yobe State, positioning the party for greater success at both state and national levels.
