Governor Caleb Mutfwang Engages U.S. Agencies on Economic Development and Bilateral Trade

United States — Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has arrived in the United States on a strategic mission focused on economic development, bilateral trade, and investment opportunities. The visit is part of Plateau State’s efforts to deepen international engagement at the sub-national level and aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Governor Mutfwang is scheduled to meet with key U.S. institutions, including the United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), officials of the U.S. State Department, and other policy and investment stakeholders. During his early engagements, Governor Mutfwang met with U.S. Congressman Riley Moore to discuss strengthening cooperation between Nigeria and the United States, particularly in areas of economic collaboration, investment, security, and democratic governance. In the meeting, Governor Mutfwang highlighted the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting its focus on improving the welfare, security, and prosperity of Nigerians. He also outlined progress in the fight against insurgency, emphasizing efforts to enhance national security. Congressman Moore welcomed the governor’s visit, expressing interest in deepening U.S.–Nigeria relations and promoting mutually beneficial partnerships in investment and development. Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the continued support and partnership of the U.S. government and reiterated Plateau State’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation in investment, development, security, and people-to-people relations.
