Gov Kefas hails acting IGP Disu, pledges state support

By Femi Bolaji Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has congratulated the newly appointed acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, describing the appointment as a strategic move that will bolster Nigeria’s security architecture. In a statement released Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello, Kefas also lauded President Bola Tinubu for prioritising experience, character, and a proven track record of dedication in selecting the nation’s new police chief. He characterised IGP Disu as a “consummate professional” who earned his trajectory through the ranks through merit and unwavering commitment to duty. According to him, “This change of baton comes at a critical juncture when our nation requires every hand on deck to confront the challenges of terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities. “I have full confidence that the new IGP will bring fresh value to the collective effort of making Nigeria safer for all.” The governor further reaffirmed Taraba State’s commitment to a robust partnership with the Nigeria Police Force. He assured the new IGP of his administration’s support in ensuring Taraba remains a safe place for its residents and investors. Kefas also paid tribute to the former IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, commending him for his selfless service and the harmonious working relationship they shared during his tenure.
