Four abducted on Igbeti–Kishi road as Oyo Police launch rescue operation

By Adeola Badru, Oyo Four people have been abducted along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in Oyo State, prompting the state police command to initiate a coordinated search and rescue operation. In a statement on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said the Commissioner of Police immediately directed Divisional Police Officers from Kishi and Igbeti, supported by tactical teams, to mobilise all necessary resources to secure the victims’ release and apprehend the suspects. Ayanlade added that the operation includes combing nearby forests and communities and intensifying intelligence gathering to track down the perpetrators. He reassured residents that the police remain committed to protecting lives and property, urging the public to stay calm and share any credible information that could aid the ongoing efforts. “The Command remains resolute in ensuring the safety of residents and appeals to members of the public to provide any useful information to assist ongoing operations,” Ayanlade said.
