Former longest-serving Delta Principal takes oath as Justice of Peace

Chief Agbanashi Osayife Josiah has been formally sworn in as a Justice of the Peace (JP) by the Delta State Ministry of Justice, marking another significant milestone in his distinguished record of public service. Chief Josiah, reputed as one of the longest-serving secondary school principals in Delta State, showed utmost dedication in the education industry for over two decades as a principal from 1990 to 2012. Throughout his tenure, he was widely acknowledged for his unwavering commitment to academic excellence, disciplined administration, and the overall development of secondary education in the state. At the swearing-in ceremony conducted by officials of the Ministry of Justice, he was officially vested with the duties and responsibilities of a Justice of the Peace, an honour bestowed in recognition of his integrity, exemplary leadership, and meritorious service to society. Beyond his impactful career in education, Chief Josiah also contributed to higher education governance as a two-time member of the Governing Council of the Delta State College of Physical and Health Education, Mosogar. In that capacity, he was actively involved in policy decisions and institutional advancement. In the traditional sphere, he holds the revered title of Onuosa of Emu Ebendo Community in Emu Clan, further affirming his standing as a respected community leader. He is also the Ogbuishi Chukwunwike and Ogbuefi Akulunor I of Akarai-Etiti, and a member of the Emu-Ebendo Council of Chiefs. Additionally, Chief Josiah serves as President Emeritus of St. Joseph’s College, Ozoro Old Students’ Association, reflecting his continued commitment to educational and alumni development. His elevation as a Justice of the Peace is widely regarded as a well-deserved recognition of his lifelong dedication to education, community leadership, and service to Delta State.
