...Urge Responsible Celebrations By Olasunkanmi Akoni The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, have congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, urging residents to celebrate responsibly during the Eid-el-Fitr festivities. In a statement issued by the Lagos APC Spokesman, Seye Oladejo, the party described Eid-el-Fitr as a significant occasion symbolising sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and unwavering faith in Almighty Allah. “It is a time that calls for gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment to the values of peace, unity, and mutual coexistence,” the statement read. The party commended the Muslim community for their devotion, prayers, and contributions to the growth and stability of Lagos State, encouraging them to sustain the virtues of patience, generosity, and love beyond the holy month. It also urged residents to use the festive period to strengthen unity, promote peaceful coexistence, and extend support to the less privileged, while reaffirming its commitment to inclusive governance and religious harmony. “As families and friends gather to celebrate, we wish everyone a peaceful, joyful, and safe Eid-el-Fitr celebration,” the statement added. In a separate statement, Dauda, popularly known as AKOD, through his Chief Press Secretary, Olalekan Oni, extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Ikeja and across the state. He praised the Muslim Ummah for their sacrifice and steadfastness during Ramadan, noting that the period reflects enduring values of faith, patience, and selflessness. “On behalf of the good people of Ikeja Local Government, the Chairman wishes residents a peaceful and joyous celebration. It is our prayer that the blessings of the season bring happiness, prosperity, and renewed hope to every home,” he said. Dauda described Eid-el-Fitr as a time for reflection, gratitude, and togetherness, urging residents to uphold the values of unity, compassion, and love in pursuit of community development. He further prayed for continued peace, harmony, and progress in Ikeja, Lagos State, and Nigeria, while encouraging residents to celebrate responsibly and support the less privileged in line with the spirit of the season.
