By Henry Umoru ABUJA – Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin (APC, Kano North), has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria on the successful completion of Ramadan, urging sustained prayers for global peace amid ongoing international tensions, including the US/Israel-Iran conflict. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Jibrin commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts to stabilise the Nigerian economy through reforms and policy interventions, and for tackling insecurity. He also expressed optimism that Tinubu’s directive for security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri following recent terrorist attacks would help neutralize criminal elements in the region. Senator Jibrin urged the Muslim Ummah to carry the lessons of Ramadan into daily life, reflecting the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, while spreading love and assisting the needy during and beyond the festive period. “Glory be to Allah SWT for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan, 1447AH. This is a period of joy and happiness, and a time to show appreciation to Almighty Allah. Let’s help people in need and ensure a peaceful celebration,” he said. As part of his Eid-el-Fitr goodwill gesture, Jibrin disbursed N157 million to constituents across the 13 Local Government Areas of Kano North Senatorial District. Over 60,000 gift bags have been distributed in Kano North and other areas of Kano State, aimed at supporting residents, particularly the less privileged, to celebrate the festival with ease and dignity. The Deputy Senate President also highlighted the potential impact of the 2026 budget, currently under National Assembly review, in addressing infrastructure gaps and other developmental challenges nationwide.
