DSS rescues Kano LGA Secretary from kidnappers

By Bashir Bello KANO — Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have rescued the Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area, Hamza Musa, from captivity. Musa was reportedly abducted over the weekend at his residence in Kibiya by armed assailants, who later demanded a ransom of ₦100 million. Security sources said the DSS acted on intelligence that led to the identification of the kidnappers’ hideout in Rano. Operatives subsequently carried out a coordinated operation in the area in the early hours of Tuesday. During the rescue mission, an exchange of gunfire occurred between security operatives and the suspects. The victim was rescued alive, while two suspects were arrested. Others reportedly escaped and are being tracked. The rescued official is said to be in stable condition and is receiving medical attention.
