By Jimitota Onoyume The Delta state secretary of the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Michael Tidi, has dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC, noting that there was no force in his former party any longer to win elections in the state. Speaking at a defection ceremony in Warri, Delta state, Tidi said he was now relaxed to be with his old political friends in the same APC. It would be recalled that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori who was elected on the platform of the PDP decamped last year with prominent leaders of the party to the APC. Tidi, a two time Chairman of Warri south local government on the banner of the PDP before he was recently elevated to the position of the state secretary of the caretaker committee of the PDP told the gathering that he felt happy to reunite with his political friends and leaders in the PDP. Continuing, Tidi said after a critical assessment of things he came to a conclusion that it was better to remain united with his political friends. Leading a sizable number of his loyalists to the APC Tidi said he was in his new party to contribute to its beautiful story. Chairman of Warri south local government , Mr Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, Chairman of the APC in the local government , Mr Richard Pessu , member representing Warri South Constituency I, in the Delta state House of Assembly , Hon Augustine Uroye and some other leaders in their separate speeches welcomed the new entrants to the APC, describing their choice to join the party as a good move.
