Delta 2027: What Ogboru will do differently…

2026-03-21 - 23:14

By Nathaniel Ndubisi Biblically, it is said that “My people perish for lack of Knowledge”. Deltans are suffering in the midst of aplenty. God in His infinite mercies has blessed Delta state with rich and abundant oil and gas deposits which Feeds the whole Nation presently. If this is true to a large extent, so why are Deltans Living in abject poverty? And why are we amongst the Multidimensionally Poor Citizens of the Country? Simply put, we are presently and continuously suffering for the inefficiencies of those in power. Even now, that more monies are been allocated to States coupled with derivation Funds accruing to the state the situation has not changed. Without mincing words, are we going to continue making the same mistakes again and again. If care is not taken? Delta State requires somebody at the helm of affairs who is creative and innovative. Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru fits into this description. Apart from the “usual” building of bridges and other infrastructural developments, he will create jobs for the jobless youths and others by making them acquire multiple streams of income, thereby investing in themselves. To him, there’s always another life to touch. He would be a manager of men, women, and resources. Moreover, he will position Delta State high up to attract the needed Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The twin doctrines of Manufacturing and Industrialization shall be “Unleashed!” In no distant time, Delta State shall be a hub of very magnified business activities. The ultimate power to change the destiny of the state, lies in each and everyone of us. This can only be, when we exercise our voting power wisely without any form of intimidation, molestation and coercion. Try this, and watch the dividends of democracy trickle down to the last man standing. Come 2027. Those elites feeding fat on the current system must have written Ogboru off, but they’re doing so at their own peril. Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising everytime we fall. Failure, I dare Sam, is an opportunity to learn, grow and become better. Deltans have been turned into destitudes in their land milking with honey. Another thing Chief Ogboru would do differently is that Farmers who would be encouraged to Form Co-operative Societies for easy evacuation of their farm produce for export initiatives through the Nigeria Export Promotion council. Ogboru will promote a Culture of peace, with love and conscience. Deltans, please know that you are the author of your own story, rewrite it with intention and purpose. Ogboru is a man of unblemished Integrity, uncommon humility and Uncommon Selfless giving especially to the less privileged in the Society. This truism can be attested to the fact that he maintains relationship with both the low and high and had made personal sacrifices to change the narrative of many underprivileged. Women empowerment under Ogboru’s administration, if given the mandate, would be taken to greater heights. He believes that women are co-students with men in the University of Life, while acknowledging that men are the heads of their respective families, the role of women cannot be underestimated. Once a woman is married, she changes her name, home and leaves her family to move in with you and almost gives up in her labour room due to the unbearable pain of childbirth. That is why under his leadership, women would occupy Special positions and shall be highly treated statewise. Deltans are all encouraged to do the needful irrespective of party affiliation if things must change and the life of the Common man is to be uplifted. Ogboru cares, he feels your pains and deprivation.
