City Boy Movement appoints Sulaimon Lateef to lead Ogun mobilisation drive

By Bayo Wahab The City Boy Movement has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Sulaimon Lateef as its Ogun State director, as the movement steps up preparations ahead of the 2027 general election. Lateef announced his confirmation in a statement issued on Thursday, saying the decision followed a directive from the Ogun State leader and patron of the movement, Kamorudeen Olawale Akanni Yusuf. According to him, he has been mandated to coordinate the activities of the movement in the state in readiness for grassroots mobilisation and campaign activities. “Following the firm insistence and directive of our esteemed Leader and Patron of the City Boy Movement, Ogun State, Hon. Kamorudeen Olawale Àkànní Yusuf, I have once again been entrusted to champion and coordinate the activities of our great movement in preparation for the forthcoming grassroots mobilisation and campaign ahead of the 2027 elections,” Lateef said. As always, I remain fully committed to serving passionately, diligently, and loyally in furtherance of the strategic interests of our Leader and the successful re-election bid of our Principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” he stated. Lateef also expressed appreciation to Yusuf for what he described as consistent leadership and confidence in his ability to lead the structure in the state. “I wish to sincerely appreciate our Leader, Hon. Kamorudeen O. Yusuf, for the confidence reposed in me and for his steadfast leadership of this movement. His vision, consistency, and belief in the strength of our structure continue to inspire us all to greater service,” he said. The newly confirmed director charged members of the City Boy Movement across Ogun State to begin immediate mobilisation efforts in preparation for the 2027 polls. “Consequently, I charge every member of the City Boy Movement, Ogun State, to brace up for the important work ahead. The journey toward 2027 requires renewed energy, unity of purpose, strategic grassroots engagement, and unwavering dedication,” Lateef said. He added that the movement’s ward, local government and stakeholder structures must begin repositioning for effective mobilisation and coordinated outreach across the state. “Each ward, local government, and stakeholder arm of our movement must begin to reposition for effective mobilization and coordinated outreach,” he said. Lateef further disclosed that the leadership of the movement would soon roll out operational guidelines and engagement frameworks to guide activities in the coming months. “In the coming days, further operational guidelines and engagement frameworks will be communicated. I urge us all to remain steadfast, disciplined, and proactive as we collectively advance our shared mission. Together, we will deliver,” he added. The City Boy Movement is one of the political support platforms backing President Tinubu’s second-term bid, with a focus on grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement across states ahead of the 2027 general election.
