Abu Dhabi, UAE – BUA Group, AD Ports Group, and MAIR Group have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore collaboration in sugar refining, agro-industrial development, and integrated global logistics solutions. The agreement, announced on Monday, 16th February 2026, aims to strengthen regional food security, support industrial diversification, and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s status as a hub for trade and manufacturing. The proposed partnership will leverage BUA Group’s industrial and logistics expertise, the world-class infrastructure of Khalifa Port, and AD Ports Group’s operational experience. The initiative aligns with the UAE Food Security Strategy 2051 and Nigeria’s agricultural transformation agenda, targeting enhanced domestic capacity, value addition, improved post-harvest logistics, and expanded export markets. Through structured aggregation, processing, storage, and maritime export channels, the collaboration is designed to reduce supply chain inefficiencies, improve traceability and quality, and establish a predictable trade corridor between West Africa and the Gulf. Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Chairman of BUA Group, described the MoU as a “milestone in BUA’s international expansion” and said the partnership would create “sustainable food production and logistics solutions that strengthen regional supply chains and support the UAE’s Food Security Strategy 2051.” He added that the collaboration represents a strategic food corridor anchored on shared economic ambition, resilient infrastructure, and disciplined execution. A MAIR Group representative emphasized the firm’s commitment to building integrated solutions that reinforce Abu Dhabi’s role as a global hub for trade, food security, and industrial development. An AD Ports Group spokesperson highlighted Khalifa Port’s catalytic role in attracting high-impact industrial investments to enhance regional food security and global trade connectivity. This MoU sets the stage for a sustainable and resilient food and logistics ecosystem, combining world-class infrastructure, industrial expertise, and strategic vision to benefit the UAE, West Africa, and international markets.
