...Patriotic, Compassionate Leader By Olasunkanmi Akoni LAGOS — Lagos State Governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, describing him as a patriotic and compassionate leader. In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu praised Tinubu’s leadership, noting that his administration has driven development, economic growth, and renewed citizens’ confidence in government. The governor described the President as a visionary and focused leader whose contributions to governance, politics, and economic development have had a lasting impact on Lagos State, the South-West region, and Nigeria as a whole. “On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, family, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, I congratulate our National Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 74th birthday,” he said. Sanwo-Olu further characterised Tinubu as an experienced and trusted democrat who has devoted much of his life to public service, adding that his democratic credentials and governance style reflect a strong commitment to national development. He commended the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” noting that it has delivered tangible benefits to Nigerians and strengthened the foundations of good governance. Describing Tinubu as a detribalised leader and elder statesman, the governor said his policies and leadership have positively impacted millions of Nigerians across the country. Sanwo-Olu also credited Tinubu with laying the foundation for modern Lagos during his tenure as governor in the early years of the Fourth Republic, describing him as the “father of modern Lagos.” He added that the President has demonstrated courage and integrity in addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges through bold policy decisions aimed at steering the country toward stability and prosperity. “As our father turns 74, our sincere prayer is that God grants him continued strength, wisdom, and good health to lead Nigeria to greater political and economic heights,” the governor stated.
