APC Southeast governors re-elect Arodiogbu as National Vice Chairman

By Denis Agbo The three South East governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday reached a consensus on the party’s zonal executive committee, re-electing Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu as National Vice Chairman (South East). The decision emerged during the APC Southeast Zonal Congress held at Enugu Hotel Presidential, Enugu, with delegates and party leaders adopting a consensus approach for the elections. Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State highlighted the party’s progress under President Bola Tinubu and emphasized that the congress would follow the party constitution through consensus. Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State moved for the dissolution of the existing zonal executive, a motion seconded by Senator Patrick Ndubueze. Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, presented the consensus list of candidates, which was overwhelmingly endorsed by delegates. Alongside Dr. Arodiogbu, other elected zonal executives include Chief Innocent Itakpa Azuoba (Secretary), Barr. Rex Mayor Ogbonna (Legal Adviser), Hon. Henry Onwughalaonye (Publicity Secretary), Barr. Chima Kenneth Ogbonnaya (Youth Leader), Dr. Nwachukwu (Leader for Persons with Disabilities), Dr. Oby Aji (Woman Leader), and Chief Arinze Ikedife (Organising Secretary). Governor Peter Mbah described the congress as a demonstration of unity and strength within the APC in the Southeast, praising the party’s resilience and President Tinubu’s reforms that have boosted economic growth. The congress saw the attendance of prominent APC figures, including former Senate President Ken Nnamani, Deputy National Chairman (South) Chief Emma Eneukwu, Senators Osita Izunaso, Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Uche Ekwunife, Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Kelvin Chukwu, Osita Ngwu, Ministers Nkeiru Onyejeocha, Chris Ngige, Kingsley Udeh, as well as members of the House of Representatives and other party stakeholders.
