APC Plateau members endorse Tinubu ahead of 2027 elections

Praise NEC for zoning national chairmanship to North Central, Plateau By Henry Umoru ABUJA — Ahead of the 2027 general elections, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Plateau State, under the aegis of the APC Plateau State Forum, Abuja (APSFA), have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office. The group also commended the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party for zoning the position of National Chairman to the North Central geopolitical zone and micro-zoning it to Plateau State ahead of the APC National Convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026. Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Chairman of APSFA, Hon. Yakubu Pam Sakondong, said the decision reflects fairness and recognition of the contributions of the zone and the state to the party. He expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his leadership, noting that the party has continued to strengthen its structure and expand its national appeal. Sakondong also acknowledged the leadership of the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, citing reforms such as the introduction of electronic membership registration and initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion within the party. He further commended efforts at party reconciliation and unity, as well as the expansion of the party’s membership base. The group also congratulated the party on its performance in the recent Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils elections, describing the outcome as a reflection of growing support for the APC. APSFA equally acknowledged the contributions of key stakeholders, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to the party’s electoral success in the FCT. Reaffirming its position, the forum endorsed President Tinubu for a second term, expressing confidence in his leadership and commitment to national development. The group called on party members and Nigerians to support the APC’s leadership and ongoing reforms, emphasising the need for unity and collective effort in strengthening democratic governance.
