By Shina Abubakar, Osogbo A member of the House of Representatives representing Ayedaade/Isokan/Irewole Federal Constituency of Osun State, Hon. Lanre Oladebo, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke has outperformed the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administrations in the state. Oladebo made the remark while receiving his Accord Party membership card, marking his official defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He noted that despite the alleged withholding of local government funds by the Federal Government, Governor Adeleke had delivered more impactful governance within three and a half years than the APC did during its 12-year rule in the state. According to him, the governor’s achievements, particularly in infrastructure development, influenced his decision to join the Accord Party. “It is important to let you know that Governor Adeleke’s achievements informed our political alignment here in Osun. His many feats in infrastructure are the reasons we left the PDP for Accord,” he said. Oladebo urged residents of the state to continue supporting the governor to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy. He also appealed to the Federal Government to release local government allocations to the state, stressing that the situation was negatively affecting governance at the grassroots. “We have had APC administrations for years without any seizure of local government funds, yet Governor Adeleke, in less than four years, has performed better. Let’s continue to support him to do more for our people,” he added. In his remarks, the Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party, Mr. Victor Akande, commended Oladebo for joining the party and assured him of full support. “We are here to present the membership card to the lawmaker representing Ayedaade/Isokan/Irewole Federal Constituency in recognition of his decision to join us,” Akande said. He also encouraged residents to take advantage of the party’s digital registration platform ahead of the deadline for its primary elections.
