A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Setonji David, says President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is a “done deal. David, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Assembly and member representing Badagry Constituency II, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos. According to him, no political observer or Nigerian should doubt Tinubu’s reelection, insisting that any attempt by opposition groups to challenge it would be a waste of time and resources. “No political watcher or Nigerian should doubt the second term of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is a done deal. “He is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the second term beginning in 2027. Nobody should think otherwise,” the lawmaker said. David said the only prayer of supporters was for God to grant the president the strength and wisdom to continue the work he had started in repositioning the country. “The only prayer we are offering to God is to grant him strength and wisdom to continue the good work he has begun in resetting the country,” he said. The lawmaker said Tinubu had demonstrated courage and determination in tackling long-standing challenges confronting Nigeria. “He is doing and going excellently well. We have never had a president with this kind of courage to carry out the reforms we have now. “He has taken bold steps many leaders before him avoided, and those reforms are laying a solid foundation for a better Nigeria,” he said. According to him, Nigeria is gradually returning to the path of growth and stability. David expressed gratitude to God for giving Nigeria”a great leader like Tinubu.” “We are grateful to God for giving us a great leader like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. “The second term is sure, so nobody should doubt it. Nigerians understand the direction he is taking the country,” David said. He said opposition elements forming alliances under different platforms would not succeed in stopping Tinubu’s reelection. “All those people ganging up under different umbrellas in the name of opposition will fail. They are simply wasting their time,” he said. David also cited the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) strength across the country as a factor reinforcing confidence in Tinubu’s second term. “What are we even talking about? The APC currently controls about 31 states across the country. “That clearly shows the strength and acceptance of the party across Nigeria,” the lawmaker said. He expressed optimism that the party would build on its achievements ahead of the 2027 general elections. Vanguard News
