By Adeola Badru The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Oyo State Chapter, have commenced early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections with the inauguration of Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinators across the state, setting a target of at least a 35 per cent improvement on the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s 2023 presidential election results. The inauguration, held on Monday at the APC State Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, marked a strategic move to strengthen grassroots structures and consolidate support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the party’s electoral prospects in Oyo State. Speaking at the event, the Oyo State Ambassador of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, charged the newly inaugurated Coordinators to intensify mobilisation at the ward and polling-unit levels, describing them as critical to delivering electoral victory in 2027. Folarin said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had a collective mandate to significantly improve the party’s performance in the state, stressing that the 35 per cent target was measurable and required disciplined, data-driven organisation and sustained engagement with voters. According to him, the Coordinators are expected to work in synergy with existing APC structures, respect party hierarchy, and strengthen internal cohesion, noting that the inauguration was “a call to service and results, not a ceremonial exercise.” “You are now the frontline custodians of the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots, where confidence is earned, and victories are delivered,” Folarin said, urging them to effectively communicate government policies and achievements in a manner the people can understand and trust. He added that the Coordinators would also serve as a bridge between the leadership and the grassroots by providing accurate local intelligence, identifying community challenges, and sustaining public confidence in the party and the Tinubu administration. In his remarks, the South-West Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, expressed confidence that President Tinubu would secure a landslide victory in 2027, urging the Coordinators to take ownership of the President’s campaign in their respective local governments. “You are representing the President in your local governments. Represent him well and canvass votes for him,” Adeyeye said. Also speaking, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, clarified that the role of the Coordinators was not to rival existing party executives at the local level but to complement and strengthen APC structures. Adelabu said their core assignment was to project the achievements of the Tinubu administration in order to secure massive votes for the President and other APC candidates in Oyo State, urging them to remain disciplined and “weaponise themselves with facts and performance records.” Other APC leaders, including Senators Abdulfatai Buhari, Sharafadeen Alli and Ayo Adeseun, as well as former Oyo APC Chairman Chief Akin Oke and the party’s current State Chairman, Pharm. Olayide Abass advised the Coordinators to strictly abide by party rules and project a positive image of the President and the party. Earlier, in the welcome address, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle congratulated the Coordinators on their appointments, describing the task ahead as a significant responsibility that required commitment and a strong sense of duty. The event was attended by APC executives, party leaders, stakeholders and members from across the state. Vanguard News
