2026-02-18 - 12:26

By Adeola Badru A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the 2027 general elections, assuring residents of continued good governance. Ajadi made the declaration yesterday while addressing transport unions operating under the Park Management System (PMS) at their headquarters in New Garage, Ibadan. He urged park managers and commercial drivers across the state to remain united and sustain the peace and harmony currently existing among them. According to him, “My advice to the Park Managers and the commercial drivers in Oyo State is that they should continue the love and peaceful attitudes. They should remain united. They should not ‘scatter legs.” He further stated, “Don’t let anybody deceive you, remain steadfast. Let me assure you that our party, the PDP, will produce the next governor come 2027.” Ajadi explained that his visit to the PMS headquarters was part of consultations with key stakeholders, particularly transporters and park managers, to formally inform them of his ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election. “Today I joined my people, the park managers in Oyo State, to familiarise with them and inform them of my intention to serve the people of Oyo State as the next Governor by the Grace of God,” he said. Outlining his vision for the transport sector, Ajadi disclosed plans to improve the aesthetics and standards of city taxi services in collaboration with the Park Management System. He also pledged to expand the availability of mass transit buses across all parts of the state, ensuring wider coverage and improved accessibility. Ajadi said the mass transit scheme would operate in partnership with park managers to enhance efficiency and inclusivity. He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the newly established bus terminals across the state, noting that his administration would guarantee their optimal utilisation if elected. The governorship aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to working with transport stakeholders to strengthen unity, peace and sustainable development within the sector and the state at large.
