By Olasunkanmi Akoni In a renewed drive to strengthen grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Lagos4Lagos Movement under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Otto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has inaugurated Street Captains, each tasked with coordinating 100 grassroots mobilisers per street. The initiative forms a core part of the JAGABAN/JANDOR 2027 Project, aimed at institutionalising street-level political organisation, voter education and sustained community mobilisation across Otto-Awori LCDA and the wider Badagry Division. Speaking at the inauguration, the APC Lagos State Chairman, represented by the Lagos West Senatorial Youth Leader, Rasheed Gbose, described the Street Captains initiative as critical to effective grassroots engagement, voter contact and party discipline. Gbose urged party members to fully participate in the ongoing APC e-registration exercise, stressing that a strong, updated party register is essential to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and the continued dominance of the APC in Lagos State. Also speaking, APC leader Chief Shakirudeen Ola Apena called for greater equity in Lagos State’s leadership configuration, noting that Badagry Division remains the only IBILE division yet to produce a state governor. He lamented what he described as the division’s relative infrastructure deficit despite its strategic potential in areas such as tourism, aquaculture, the blue economy and maritime trade. Apena further identified Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) as his preferred APC governorship aspirant for 2027, citing his courage, competence, capacity, resilience and resourcefulness as qualities suited to the future leadership needs of Lagos State. The event, which held at the Ilogbo-Elegba Town Hall, Ojo Local Government Area, attracted party leaders, stakeholders, youth groups and grassroots mobilisers from across Otto-Awori LCDA and the Badagry Division.
